CHP & CCHP Solutions

Combined Heat and Power and Combined Cooling Heat and Power

Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and Combined Cooling Heat and Power (CCHP) have the potential to increase the efficiency of conventional continuous power systems.
There’s a worldwide push towards distributed power and Micro Grids for reduced emissions of greenhouse gases.

CHP and Micro Grids

CHP works in coordination with Micro Grids- a small-scale power network that can operate independently or collaboratively with the main power grid and with other small power grids.

Typical micro grids use multiple sources of power including renewables, high efficiency fossil fuel generators combined with Energy Storage Systems (ESS) locally to deliver dependable, low cost resilient energy. The practice of using microgrids is known as distributed,  dispersed, decentralized, district or embedded energy production.

CHP Can:

  • Increase energy efficiency
  • Reduce air pollutant emissions
  • Reduce site energy costs
  • Enhance site energy reliability
  • Delay need for new T&D
  • Infrastructure
  • Use clean domestic energy sources (natural gas, biomass, and biogas)

Applications We’re Ideally Suited For:

  • Healthcare & Hospitals
  • Airports
  • Commercial & Public Buildings
  • Data Centers
  • Residential & Utilities
  • Hotels
  • Aquatic Centers
  • Greenhouses
  • Industrial & Manufacturing
  • Agriculture
  • Landfills
  • Sewage & Water Treatment (WWTP)
  • Livestock Slaughter Industry
  • Dairy Industry
  • Peak Application
  • Brewers

See How We Can Help

  • Natural Gas Providers

Increase the volume of fuel that is sold by the natural gas industry at a retail distribution level.
Natural Gas volumes will level out throughout the year as more is used to produce electricity at a local level.
Electric power production and distribution capacity will increase proportionately.

  • Propane Retailers

Propane extends the reach of power beyond the existing electrical and natural gas networks.
Propane providers will also significantly increase the volume of fuel that is sold at a retail distribution level.
Volumes will level out throughout the year as more is used to produce electricity at a local level.
Assets that typically lie fallow during the summer months will find activity to sell fuel for electric power production.

  • Electric Grid Operators

CCHP and CHP Microgrids can reduce the requirement for infrastructure investment to address increase in Power demand of market electrification and the balancing of renewable sources of power.
CCHP and CHP Microgrid systems have the capacity to sell back to the Grid and thereby have a multiplying effect on the Grid’s capacity without investing in new infrastructure.

  • Electric Retailers

CHP and CCHP Microgrids provides retail electric providers another source of spinning reserves which is enhanced with battery storage (ESS).
